Police Spokesman DIG Ajith Rohana today stated that a police officer had been killed at a road traffic accident that happened in Kalagedihena, Nittambuwa yesterday morning.
Further, another police constable had been critically injured due to a vehicle running over him in Narammala yesterday. The driver of the vehicle has been arrested and it was revealed that he was under the influence of alcohol.
A total of seven road traffic deaths had happened during the last 24 hours, while 41 had been critically injured.lp
