A special operation has been launched to identify the persons who have travelled out of the Western Province disregarding the request made not to do so, Police Spokesman DIG Ajith Rohana said.
Accordingly, he said the police will focus on gathering information on those who booked into hotels and guest houses, after leaving the Western Province.
Police and the Army Commander earlier requested the people in the Western Province not to leave for other areas over the long weekend.
DIG Rohana said legal action will be taken against those who have travelled out of the province.
