Police have seized a container and a lorry transporting 10,000 kilograms of refuse tea and two suspects were arrested, stated Police Spokesman DIG Ajith Rohana.
The two vehicles and two suspects were arrested in the Yakkala area in Gampaha along with a stock of garbage tea, police said.
The raid was carried out by the Tea Board, the Police Special Task Force and the police. Preliminary investigations have revealed that the suspects had been involved in the racket for some time.
