A total of 28 motorcycles and three lorries were brought under police custody during a special raid in the Western Province. The drivers and riders have been charged with unsafe driving, said Deshabandhu Tennakoon, Senior Deputy Inspector of Police in charge of the Western Province.
Police have also rounded up 128 motorcycles for speeding. Lawsuits have been filed against the owners. A special traffic operation has been launched to prevent traffic accidents, the Senior DIG said.
