A total of 422 workers at vegetable and fish stalls have been subjected to PCR tests since December 29 and three of them have tested positive for COVID-19, Police Spokesman DIG Ajith Rohana said.
He also said the police have apprehended 220 persons in the Western Province yesterday for not wearing face masks and three of them have also been tested positive for COVID-19.
He said 1,960 persons have been nabbed as of today since January 5 in the Western Province for not wearing face masks.
Out of them 1,022 persons have been subjected to PCR and Antigen tests and 19 of them have been tested positive for COVID-19.
