The policy on Madrasa schools will be changed to closely look into the teaching material and those who teach at them, Education Minister Professor G.L.Peiris said today.
Responding to a question raised by SJB MP Dr. Kavinda Jayawardane in Parliament, Minister Peiris said full freedom had been given to Madrasa schools under the Yahapalana Government.
“Earlier, those who wished to arrive in the country to teach at Madrasas were scrutinized but this was changed under the Yahapalana Government. There was full freedom. However, we will change this policy and look into teaching materials, the contents, those who teach at the schools and also about the procedure of admitting students,” he said.
