The Parliament has approved of the Port City to be considered as a part of Colombo after its completion.
The Government presented the Resolution under the Administrative Districts Act seeking Parliament approval to alter the area of the authority and the limits of the Administrative District of Colombo specified in the First Schedule to the Administrative Districts Act, No. 22 of 1955 and include the reclaimed area of land known as “Port City Colombo” within the area of authority and the limits of the Administrative District of Colombo.
Further, the Resolution also called for the reclaimed area of land to be annexed to the Divisional Secretary's Division of Colombo in the Administrative District of Colombo.
