The Sri Lanka Port City land has been officially amalgamated to the map of Sri Lanka, Education Minister G L Pieris today said.
As such, he said that the legal system of Sri Lanka will have the exact same jurisdiction over the Port City.
It was further revealed that the law enforcement authorities including members of the judiciary and executive will have full governance over the Port City.
Moreover, the finance laws and regulations governing Sri Lanka will also be the same over the Port City.
"Fraudulent finance law, especially the Anti Money laundering Act will be strictly enforced within it borders, the same as it is islandwide," Pieris said.
Further, the Democratic institutions of Sri Lanka such as the Auditor General, Customs, Telecommunications Regulatory Commission and others will have the same jurisdiction over the Port City in maintaining rule of law.
