CHEC Port City Colombo stated that the breakwater of the Port City project had been certified by renowned international consultant Royal HaskoningDHV, Netherlands (RHDHV) and that it had been accepted by the Sri Lankan Government.
In a statement in response to The Sunday Morning article titled “Cracks in Port City?” dated 23 February 2020, CHEC Port City Colombo provided a technical explanation of the breakwater construction.
The breakwater is designed to prevent the waves that beat on the coast from reaching the Port City site.
