State Minister of Production, Supply and Regulation of Pharmaceuticals Prof Channa Jayasumana assured that the Government will not recall pregnant mothers employed in the public sector back to work.
He made these statements while addressing Parliament today (05).
Accordingly, this is said to be effective immediately.
Further, it was also noted that Government employees will be recalled for normal services in two phases per week.
The relevant circular with regard to this will be issued by the Secretary, Ministry of Public Administration
This comes after the recent announcement which informed all Government institution heads to make arrangements for employees to return to work as normal from 02 August.
