President Maithripala Sirisena has appointed Air Vice Marshal, Sumangala Dias as the new Commander of the Sri Lankan Air Force.
The Presidents Media Division stated that the new commander received his appointment from the President earlier today (29).
Air Vice Marshal Dias is a senior Sri Lankan Air officer and before his appointment as the Commander of the Air Force, he was the Chief of Staff.
The former Commander of the Air Force, Air Chief Marshal, Kapila Jayampathy handed over the duties to the new commander today.
