While congratulating US President Joe Biden on assumption of office, President Gotabaya Rajapaksa today said the government looks forward to working together towards a stronger and mutually beneficial bilateral relationship with the new President.
He also congratulated US Vice President Kamala Harris and said, “We look forward to working together towards a strengthened bilateral relationship.”
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa said, “On behalf of the government and people of Sri Lanka, I congratulate President Biden and Vice President Harris on the assumption of office. I look forward to working together with you to further strengthen the relationship between both our nations. I wish you the very best for your tenure.”
Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa also congratulated Biden and Harris. “I wish you both the very best on behalf of all Sri Lankans.”
