President Gotabaya Rajapaksa has opened a special 'COVID -19 Health and Social Security fund' at the Bank of Ceylon (BOC) to receive financial aid from local & foreign donors.
The Fund will be used to face challenges during the coronavirus pandemic.
The President said full transparency will be ensured and that the fund will be managed by "reputed Ministry Secretaries, Bankers, Auditors & the Director General of Health Services".
The President’s Fund has already deposited a sum of Rs. 100 m to the fund.
All those interested in contributing toward the fund can deposit relevant amounts to BOC A/c 85737373 .
