Dayasiri Jayasekera assumed duties as the new General Secretary of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) this morning.
President of the SLFP and President Maithripala Sirisena, who visited the SLFP headquarters this morning, also presented greetings to the new Secretary General at the occasion.
The President also handed over the letter of appointment to Dayasiri Jayasekara.
Former Minister Nimal Siripala de Silva, Mahinda Amaraweera, Duminda Dissanayake, Mahinda Samarasinghe, Thilanga Sumathipala, Lasantha Alagiyawanna and former Secretary General of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party Rohana Lakshman Piyadasa are among the senior SLFP members who attended the event.
