President travels to Tajikistan on official visit

President Maithripala Sirisena left for Tajikistan today (13) to attend the 5th summit for the “Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA)” 2019.

The three-day official visit will see President Sirisena convening for the summit with several heads of state and government with the intention of bringing together high-level delegations to adopt an ambitious Declaration covering all issues of cooperation within the CICA.

The CICA Summit held in Dushanbe, Tajikistan is a continuation of the efforts of the CICA member countries, which commenced in 2002 from the day of the first summit.

President Sirisena is scheduled to hold bilateral discussions with several heads of state during this visit.

President Maithripala Sirisena is due to leave for Tajikistan today (13) for a three-day official visit.
