PSC to question Presidential Committee

The Parliamentary Select Committee (PSC) has decided to summon the three members of the Presidential Committee which made inquiries on the Easter Sunday attacks, PSC member, M.A. Sumanthiran told The Sunday Morning. Accordingly, Supreme Court Justice Vijith Malalgoda, former Inspector General of Police N. K. Ilangakoon and former Ministry Secretary Padmasiri Jayamanne will provide evidence before the next PSC session which will be held on the 20th of August. "Upon the request of former IGP  Ilangakoon, all the three members will  submit evidence simultaneously." M.A. Sumanthiran said. The Final report of the special three-member Committee appointed was handed over to the President on the 10 June 2019. following the Easter attacks, the President Maithripala Sirisena on the 22nd of April, appointed a Special Investigation Committee comprising three members to investigate series of events on Easter Sunday.
