Achieving peace and eradicating poverty demands unity amoung all religious and ethnic groups, President Maithripala Sirisena said today(4) at the the Annual Bohra Conference in Colombo.

The Annual Bohra Conferenc commenced under the theme 'We Believe in Sri Lanka' on Sunday(1) and will continue for ten days.
Extending his greetings to the Bohra community Sirisena said that it was an honour for Sri Lanka to hold the Conference as the Bohra community was committed to ensuring peace.
The aim of this conference is to strengthen peace and trust between Sri Lankan religious groups and people of all communities.
21,000 Bohra Muslims including 2,500 Sri Lankan Bohras are participating in the event. Sri Lanka has earned a revenue of USD 31 million through the Bohra Global Conference.
The last Bohra conference was held in 2007 with a participation of 7000 Borhas.
