Gotabaya Rajapaksa came to power by giving people hopes that he can govern the country and control the cost of essential goods, whereas now he has proved that he is unable to do so, said Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP) General Secretary Tilvin Silva.
He made this statement during a media brief yesterday (04).
"Gotabaya Rajapaksa came to power promising to govern the country and control the price of goods, now he has proved he cannot do anything. People thought he would make strong decisions, and that he would be a strong ruler. Whereas, nothing is being done. The hopes of the people are gone," said Silva.
The JVP held an islandwide public awareness day yesterday, where flyers were distributed and people's grievances were heard.
