Wishing his brother, President Gotabaya Rajapaksa expressed that he is very fortunate to have been mentored by a person with such greatness in his personal and political life.
“Your Excellency, my dear brother, who left an indelible mark on Sri Lankan politics, I'm wishing you a happy birthday!” the President said in a tweet today.
Prime Minister Rajapaksa was born on November 18, 1945, at Weeraketiya in Tangalle.
During his 50 year long political career, he has held the office of Opposition Leader twice, served the country as Prime Minister for four terms and served as the President for two terms.
