President Gotabaya Rajapaksa is expected to attend Parliamentary sessions tomorrow (21), The Morning learns.
Speaking to The Morning, Presidential Spokesperson Kingsly Rathnayaka stated that the visit is marked on the President’s schedule.
However, Rathnayaka detailed that it may change depending on the situation.
When asked if there was a reason behind the President’s scheduled visit, The Morning learnt that this was not the case.
“There is no special reason, he has to participate when the public debates are going on, especially given the fact that discussions on the Budget are taking place these days,” Rathnayaka stated.
Meanwhile, Speaker of Parliament Mahinda Yapa Abeywardena said that all MPs have been asked to attend sessions tomorrow, according to the usual protocol.
