Steps have been taken to deploy buses from relevant depots for the schools where the number of school buses used for transporting schoolchildren is insufficient, the Sri Lanka Transport Board (SLTB) said.
During a discussion held at the Ministry of Education regarding the opening of new schools in the year 2021, SLTB Chairman Kingsley Ranawaka has stated that the principals of schools would be allowed to use these buses to transport students. Meanwhile, Secretary to the Ministry of Education Prof. Kapila Perera says that all parties should act responsibly to bring children to school in a safe manner.
