A 38 year old inmate has died during a failed escape attempt from the Mahara Prison.
According to the Prison's Department, 7 inmates had attempted to escape at 3 am this morning (03).
However, during the escape attempt 1 prisoner had met with an accident and died.
The police have managed to re-capture the remaining 6 inmates.
Two prison guards are reported to have succumb to injuries during the course of events.
