President of the Lanka Private Bus Owners' Association Gemunu Wijeratne has requested the government to assist in obtaining Covid-19 insurance covers for passengers.
Wijeratne speaking to The Morning said passengers are at risk of contracting the virus when travelling and that the association had requested a meeting with the Transport Ministry to discuss on the topic of obtaining Covid-19 insurance covers for passengers.
"We have requested a meeting with the Transport Ministry, failing which we will talk to President Gotabaya Rajapaksa."
Wijeratne speaking further said he fears a second Covid-19 wave and that passengers must be given required protection.
