Protesters have broken into Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe's private residence and have set fire to the property, the Prime Minister's Media Division says.
Protesters gathered outside the residence of the Prime Minister soon after news broke of Police and STF personnel assaulting TV journalists in close proximity to the property on 5th Lane Colombo.
A tense situation arose soon after, ultimately leading to the group torching the property.
