Public urged to minimise hospital visits

12 Oct 2020

The Ministry of Health has urged the general public to minimise visiting patients at hospitals, given the current Covid-19 situation in the country. In a notice issued last Saturday (10), Acting Director General of Health Services Dr. S. Sridharan requested the public to strictly adhere to the health guidelines issued by the authorities in order to curtail the spread of the virus. Accordingly, the public is advised to maintain social distancing, wash/sanitise hands frequently, and to wear the face mask at all times when visiting hospitals. Health authorities have also requested the public visiting hospitals to hand over the supplies for patients via “appropriate methods without directly meeting the patients”. Moreover, they have urged patients to visit the nearest hospitals for essential health services.
