The Colombo High Court today dismissed bail granted by the Colombo Magistrate's Court to IGP Pujith Jayasundara and former Defence Secretary Hemasiri Fernando.
Following the order Jayasundara and Fernando have been taken into remand custody.
Colombo Chief Magistrate Lanka Jayaratne had released the suspects on bail, citing lack of evidence to support charges filed by the Attorney General (AG) over the failure to prevent the Easter bombings.
However, the AG had appealed against the decision through a revision petition at the Colombo High Court. The order concerning the petition was declared by High Court judge Vikum Kaluarachchi today.
