In light of the recent exponential increase in Covid-19 cases in the country, the Media Bureau of Sri Dalada Maligawa stated today (01) that a purpose-built Covid-19 quarantine center specifically for the Maha Sangha has been established.
This facility which is located in Kandy was officially handed over to the Ministry of Health today.
According to the statement issued by the Media Bureau of Sri Dalada Maligawa, a private hotel located in the Kandy Lake Circle area has been used for this purpose.
The center has been established under the supervision of the Diyawadana Nilame together with the Kandy Hospital.
Further, it is in line with the 'Ape Sathkaraya' program at the Temple of the Tooth under the guidance of the Chief Prelates of the Malwathu-Asgiriya Maha Viharaya.
