The Cabinet of Ministers on Monday (16) granted its approval for the resolution to reserve a 100-perch land extent of Sri Lanka Railways for the Divisional Secretariat (DS) of Ratmalana.
The combined resolution, which was tabled by Minister of Irrigation and State Minister of Internal Security, Home Affairs, and Disaster Management Chamal Rajapaksa along with Minister of Transport Gamini Lokuge, was for the reservation of a 100-perch plot of land belonging to Sri Lanka Railways that was identified for the construction of the Ratmalana DS.
The construction of a new building complex for the DS office premises in Ratmalana has been in the books and comes with the intention of rendering an optimal service to the public in the area.
Meanwhile, the DS office is currently being operated within a building situated in a 26-perch plot of land.
