10 Oct 2018

England were 92/2 as Joe Root and skipper Eoin Morgan were at the crease sharing 41 runs for the third-wicket when rain stopped play during the first drinks break of the first ODI between Sri Lanka and England in Dambulla. Sri Lanka won the toss and fielded. The match was expected to start shortly as the rain was not a heavy one. Jason Roy was removed by Nuwan Pradeep caught behind the wicket and the other opening batsman, Jonny Bairstow was caught at mid-on by substitute Sadeera Samarawickrama off Akila Dananjaya. England lost the two wickets for 51 runs.
