Wickremesinghe expressed his intention to senior members of the UNP in a meeting held at the Temple Trees.
Wickremesinghe is set to meet UNP Deputy Leader and presidential hopeful Sajith Premadasa on Sunday to reach a consensus on the presidential candidate of the UNP-led United National Front (UNF).
