UNP leader Ranil Wickremesinghe visited former Minister Patali Champika Ranawaka at the Welikada Prison today.
Ranawaka is in remand custody over an accident that took place in 2016.
Meanwhile, Former Minister Sajith Premadasa and a group of MPs too visited Ranawaka.
The former Minister was arrested on the 18th of December by the Police on the orders of the Attorney General.
Following the arrest the Colombo Additional Magistrate remanded Ranawaka until the 24 of December.
The Opposition and the Speaker of Parliament is of the view that Ranawaka was arrested haphazardly, breaking parliamentary protocol when arresting a member of parliament.
