Ranjan granted bail

Former MP Ranjan Ramanayake has been granted bail by the Nugegoda Magistrate's court today. Ramanayake was arrested on the 13th of April on charges of violating curfew laws, abetting the violation of curfew laws and obstructing police officers in the execution of their duties. The following day he was produced before court and remanded until today(20). The Former MP had reportedly threatened police officers on duty at the Parliament Members’ Housing Complex and attempted to bring into the Complex a visitor who was not in possession of a curfew pass. Subsequently, Ramanayake and the visitor were taken into custody by the Mirihana Police.
