The Speaker of the Parliament Mahinda Yapa Abeywardene today stated in Parliament that the jailed Ranjan Ramanayake's Parliamentary seat has been rendered vacant.
He stated that the Secretary General of the Parliament has also informed this to the Elections Commission.
Earlier, the Samagi Jana Balawegaya told the Morning that Ajith Mannapperuma is the likely candidate too replace Ranjan Ramanayake in his seat.
