Former Minister Ravi Karunanayake arrived at the CID a short while ago to provide a statement over the CBSL bond scam.
On 22 of July,Karunanayake was ordered by the Fort Magistrate to appear before the Colombo Financial Crimes Investigation Division today (27) in connection with the Central Bank bond issue.
Karunanayake has been named as the second suspect in the Central Bank bond scam case.
Fort Magistrate Anura Dissanayake issued the order following a request made by Additional Solicitor General Haripriya Jayasundara on behalf of the Attorney General's Department.
The Additional Solicitor General told the court although Karunanayake has been asked by the court to assist in the probe, he had not appeared before the FCID on the given days citing the election.
