Ravi requests Speaker to table CBSL Forensic Audit reports

Former Minister Ravi Karunanayake today requested the Speaker to table the CBSL Forensic Audit on the CBSL Treasury bond investigation.

Karunanayake made this request during the 4th session of the 8th Parliament today.

Accusations have been leveled at Karunanayake for having a hand in the $ 11 million treasury bond scam during his tenure as Finance Minister.

Many Opposition Parliamentarians including Former Ministers Harsha De Silva and Ajith P. Perera requested the Speaker to table the CBSL Forensic audit reports.

The Committee on Public Enterprises (COPE) was to meet on 3rd December last year to discuss the Forensic Audit Reports.

However, with the prorogation of the Parliament, the COPE was dissolved and the reports were not tabled.

Approximately Rs. 900 Million was spent by the government on five forensic audit reports prepared by two international Auditors.
