The Excise Commissioner has sent a letter to District Secretaries informing them not to charge renewal charges for the renewal of five types of excise licenses in the year 2021.
The instructions have been issued according to a Gazette issued by the President Gotabaya Rajapaksa.
Accordingly, licenses of hotels approved by the Sri Lanka Tourism Board with five or more rooms and Tourism Board-approved restaurants have been exempted from paying the renewal fee for 2021.
Further, the licenses of inns and retail stores for beer, ale, stout and wine have also been exempted from paying the renewal fee for 2021.
The District Secretaries have been informed to instructs the Divisional Secretaries in this regard and not to charge fees when issuing mentioned excise licenses.
