The residents of the houses in Jaffna that were quarantined have tested negative for Covid-19, The Morning learnt.
Ministry of Health Chief Epidemiologist Dr. Sudath Samaraweera said that there were no positive cases.
“Those in Jaffna who were recently put under self-quarantine have tested negative for the Covid-19 virus,” he said.
Self-quarantine was imposed on a number of houses in Jaffna last week as a precautionary measure after an Indian national who had been residing there had tested positive for Covid-19.
The Indian national had been residing in Jaffna throughout the quarantine period and was confirmed a Covid-19 patient after being tested upon returning to India.
