Retirement age for government doctors raised to 61

The Cabinet has grated approval to extend the retirement age of government doctors, Cabinet Co-Spokesman Ramesh Pathirana said. Pathirana was speaking during the cabinet press briefing today. He said the retirement age of government doctors has accordingly been raised from 60 to 61. Health Minister Pavithra Wanniarachchi had submitted a cabinet proposal taking into consideration the shortage of doctors in the country, Pathirana added.
