Rishad Bathiudeen was arrested following an operation involving 06 Police teams, which took a time period of 6 days, as he was charged with Criminal Misappropriation of Public Funds and Violation of Election Laws with regard to the Transportation of IDPs in CTB buses to vote at the 2019 Presidential Election. Earlier, Rishad's brother Riyaj Bathiudeen, who was detained over last year’s terrorist attacks, was released due to insufficient evidence.
