Ritzbury powers Sir John Tarbat Championship for tenth year

Ritzbury, a well-known chocolate brand from CBL Foods International (Pvt.) Ltd., announced its 10th-year sponsorship of the 90th Sir John Tarbat School Athletic Championship to uplift standards of sports in Sri Lanka whilst supporting budding athletes. Standing as the oldest athletics championship in Sri Lanka, Ritzbury Sir John Tarbat Athletic Championship has produced numerous national and international level athletes. As a strong supporter of sports in Sri Lanka, Ritzbury – the sole sponsor of this year’s championship – will power both the senior and junior meets which are expected to attract over 18,000  school athletes from 800 schools. The Junior Championship will be conducted at the regional level on the following dates:
  • 1st regional meet  – 30 and 31 August – Anuradhapura
  • 2nd regional meet – 22 and 23 September – Embilipitiya
  • 3rd regional meet – 29 and 30 September and 1 October – Bandaragama
Meanwhile, athletes who qualify from the regional meets will participate in the finals of the Junior Championship, which will be conducted under four age groups – under 12, 13, 14, and 15. The Senior Athletics meet will take place from 13 to 16 September at the Mahinda Rajapaksa Stadium, Diyagama, featuring competitors of the under 16, 18, and 20 categories.
