Rohan Karr leaves Cinnamon Hotels for Hayleys

John Keells Holdings (JKH) Vice President and Cinnamon Hotels and Resorts Sector Head - City Hotels Rohan Karr has resigned from his position to join Hayleys PLC. The Sunday Morning Business reliably learns that Karr will be joining the Board of the Dhammika Perera-led conglomerate as an Executive Director. He will also be managing the Hayleys hotels as the Managing Director of the Hayleys Leisure arm, which includes the Kingsbury Hotel Colombo, Amaya Resorts and Hayleys Tours. Karr joined JKH 15 years ago and was the first General Manager of the first Cinnamon Grand property and was the first CEO of the Cinnamon Hotels and Resorts chain. He was also overseeing the development of JKH's flagship development, the iconic Cinnamon Life. It is understood that he is leaving purely to take on a new challenge at Hayleys PLC as opposed to any conflict or dissatisfaction with his former employer. Photo: Saman Abeysiriwardena
