[caption id="attachment_117416" align="alignleft" width="300"] Roshan Abeysinghe[/caption] Popular cricket commentator Roshan Abeysinghe responding to the news item The Morning Sports published on 1 February (Monday) on our back page (Page 16), under the heading “Charlie Austin should be chased out: Arjuna Ranatunga” announced the following: I categorically deny that either I or anyone connected to me is managing players at present. I gave up that long time ago. If anyone could prove or mention a player’s name that I manage, I’m willing to meet that person. Let any player come out and say I manage those players, or the so-called proxy of mine is managing anyone. That’s not my business. If I do not manage a player, what interest do I have in that player’s selection? I’ve managed players such as Thisara Perera, Lahiru Thirimanne, Tillakaratne Dilshan, and Ajantha Mendis. Some of them are retired and some of them are working with others. That was some seven years ago. When I managed players, I have helped enough young cricketers. I used to help them financially too. I did it more as a service than a money-making enterprise.
