A value of Rs. 1 b is to be allocated for the further development of the Ridiyagama Safari Park in Hambantota, stated Tourism Minister Prasanna Ranatunga.
The Minister was responding to a question posed by Parliamentarian Buddhika Pathirana in Parliament today (22).
A further Rs. 15 m is to be allocated for the improvement of hospital facilities to treat the animals within the conservation.
The Minister also stated that the previous government did not pay the required attention to this park and resulted in the loss of expected revenue.
