Police are investigating a case of the theft of 30 doses of the Sinopharm vaccine worth Rs. 90,000.
This is according to a complaint lodged by the Habaraduwa Medical Officer of Health with the Habaraduwa Police yesterday (16).
Police Media Spokesman, DIG Ajith Rohana stated that a driver and a minor employee attached to the relevant Medical Officer of Health office are said to be responsible for the incident and investigations are underway.
The Galle SSP has appointed a team of officers from the Galle Divisional Crime Unit to conduct a special investigation into the incident, said DIG Ajith Rohana.
