Ruwan targets Sinhala Buddhist UNP voters

15 Sep 2020

The UNP is currently working with Buddhist clergy to attract the lost Sinhala Buddhist voters during the last election, according to the newly elected Deputy Leader of UNP, MP Ruwan Wijewardene. “One of the problems that we were facing during the last election was the loss of Sinhala Buddhist voters for our party. Currently, plans are being undertaken to involve more Sinhala Buddhist voters in the work we do for UNP," he commented. He further stated that as the Samagi Jana Balawegaya ministers are mostly former UNP MPs and they have a connection, he hopes that both SJB and UNP will be able to work together for the betterment of the country.
