Wijewardena has also drawn attention to the case on the attacks before the Fort Magistrate that has listed individuals involved in the attacks unleashed on the peaceful and unarmed protesters. He has reiterated the need to arrest those involved in the attacks on the peaceful protestors. He has also called on the IGP to inform him the reason for the delay in making these arrests as well as progress of the investigations since the Prime Minister has directed him (Wijewardena) to coordinate with the peaceful protestors to ensure their safety.
