Claiming that he is not a politician that acts upon the instructions of the intelligence chief, Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) leader Sajith Premadasa said that his loyalty to the Sri Lankan Catholic community is obvious due to his close connections with Cardinal Malcolm Ranjith. He made this statement yesterday (04) after paying a visit to Archbishop of Colombo Cardinal Malcolm Ranjith. "There is a conspiracy going on that I am not close to the Catholic community, but I want people to know that I stand with the Catholic community. People have created controversial statements saying that I did not allow Harin Fernando or Manusha Nanayakkara to reveal things about the Easter Attacks, whereas the truth is that I had given them permission to reveal whatever information they knew about the attacks. There are more rumours going around that I act according to the instructions by the intelligence chief, but I am not a politician who acts on the instructions of him or anyone else," said Premadasa. Premadasa added that people who have previously been in power might have acted upon instructions of the intelligence chief in the past, whereas he is different.
