Both Minister of Public Security Rear Admiral (Retd.) Sarath Weerasekara and Ilankai Tamil Arasu Kachchi (ITAK) MP Shanakiyan Rasamanickam tested positive for Covid-19 yesterday (20).
Minister Weerasekara had been admitted to the Police Hospital yesterday after testing positive for the virus. It was reported that he had undergone a PCR test due to an illness and that the results of the said tests had returned positive for Covid-19.
Meanwhile, MP Rasamanickam announced yesterday that he was Covid-positive on his official Twitter handle, where he stated: “I tested positive for Covid-19 today (20), and will be in isolation.”
He had added: “If we have met over the last few days, please do keep an eye out for symptoms. Do get tested if you experience any symptoms.”
