21 Jun 2022

The Supreme Court of Sri Lanka has rejected granting leave to proceed on Fundamental Rights petitions filed against Dhammika Perera taking oaths as a Member of Parliament. Speaking to The Morning today (21), Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) General Secretary Sagara Kariyawasam stated that as the FR petitions have now been dismissed, Mr Perera would enter parliament through the seat made vacant by the resignation of former Minister Basil Rajapaksa. "Dhammika Perera will most likely take oaths tomorrow and will be a MP representing the SLPP," said Kariyawasam.
