Pathana face upset
Wesley College produced a brilliant display of rugby yesterday at Havelock Park, Colombo as they beat fancied Science College by 29 to 18 points in their inter-school rugby encounter.
Manilka Ruberu made a valiant effort to keep Pathana in contention but four brilliant tries from Kavindana Perera and a catchy display by Wesley, as a unit, were way too much for the Green Machine on Saturday.
In another match, St. Peter’s College outplayed Trinity College by 32 to seven points in Bambalapitiya.
Royal College, meanwhile, beat Science College 41 points to 20 at Royal College Sports Complex.
St. Joseph’s defeated S. Thomas’ College, Mount Lavinia by 22 to ten points in their match took place at Mount Lavinia. (TR)
